StrataMail Email Continuity is a dedicated email spooling and continuity-access solution designed to keep your organization
receiving mail during outages — without moving your mailboxes or changing how your users work day-to-day.
It sits in front of your existing email system (for example Microsoft 365, Google Workspace (Gmail),
Hosted Exchange, on-premises Exchange, Zimbra, Kerio Connect, or
any SMTP-reachable mail platform) and provides:
secondary MX spooling plus a shadow mailbox experience via StrataMail webmail.
Bundled / Dedicated Only: This continuity stack is delivered as dedicated infrastructure
(VPS or Dedicated server) and is bundled with SpamWeeder Premium. It is not offered on shared hosting.
What You Get
- No mailbox migration: Your production mailboxes stay where they are (Microsoft 365, Google, Exchange, etc.).
- Inbound spooling (MX backup): We accept and queue inbound mail whenever your primary mail system is unreachable.
- Continuity webmail access: Users can access queued and copied mail via StrataMail webmail during outages.
- Shadow mailbox (carbon copy): A copy of inbound mail is delivered to your StrataMail server for continuity access.
- Automatic recovery: When your primary system is back, queued mail is released and normal delivery resumes.
- Bundled filtering: SpamWeeder Premium is included as part of this solution’s inbound mail-flow.
How It Works (Two-Part Architecture)

SpamWeeder Premium Filtering (Front Door):
Inbound email is filtered first to block spam, malware, phishing, and impersonation attempts before it reaches your environment.

StrataMail MX Backup / Spooler:
Clean mail is accepted by the continuity MX. Under normal operation it delivers to your primary mail system.
If the primary system is unavailable, messages remain safely queued on the spooler until delivery is possible.

Carbon Copy to StrataMail Shadow Mailbox:
During spooling (and/or by policy), the spooler sends a copy of inbound messages to a StrataMail server.
This creates continuity mailbox access so users can read and respond during outages via webmail.

Restore / Release:
As soon as the primary mail platform accepts mail again, the queued messages are released and delivered normally.
Preserving DKIM for Forwarding (Transparent Delivery Goal)
Some organizations forward mail externally (for example Distribution Groups in Microsoft 365 with external recipients).
If a gateway modifies message content or headers, it can break the original DKIM signature and lead to downstream
DMARC failures at the final destination.
StrataMail Continuity is designed so that the delivery path to your primary mail platform stays as close as possible to what was received
(no content rewriting on the delivery path). The goal is to preserve the sender’s original DKIM signature so your platform can forward
mail successfully without triggering authentication failures.
Supported Primary Mail Platforms
This is an SMTP-based continuity layer. If your primary platform can receive mail over SMTP, it can usually be protected by StrataMail Continuity.

- Hosted Exchange (third-party Exchange providers)
- On-premises Microsoft Exchange
- Mailenable and similar hosted email

- Custom Postfix/Exim mail servers and appliances
Deployment Requirements
- VPS or Dedicated only: Dedicated infrastructure is required for this bundled design.
- Bundled with SpamWeeder Premium: This continuity solution is delivered as a complete inbound mail-flow stack.
- No split-domain required: You keep all mailboxes on your primary platform; we simply protect inbound delivery.
